Since everyone has to stay at home these days, we thought we'd share our favourite BBQ recipes. Maybe you've fallen victim to some serious panic buying and your pork shoulder is taking up all space left your freezer. Time to heat up the grill and get cooking. As you might've guessed, there's a part 2 on the way so keep an eye out on our blog!
Meat & Poultry BBQ Recipes
A twist on your usual pulled pork bun, these Spicy BBQ Pork Buns with Kohlrabi Slaw will have people going back for seconds (lucky this recipe caters for 8-10). The pork shoulder will come out juicy and tender and with the homemade BBQ sauce you're in for a serious feast. With enough time on your hands you can even attempt to make the soft rolls yourself as well.
As most of us have a bit of extra time on our hands, this is the perfect opportunity to perfect a classic: Sweet and Spicy BBQ Ribs. These ribs can be precooked in the oven and finished off on the bbq. Get ready for a true explosion of flavours.
The secret to a moist and full of flavour chicken: Beer Can Chicken with Chimichurri. You can use a regular beer or cider can, or opt for the ceramic chicken stand from Kamado Joe.
BBQ Fish Recipes
These Barbecued Prawns with Honey, Sesame & Lemon are great for an entree or side dish. Prepare these prawns a day ahead to be assured they are marinated to perfection. Serve with some lemon wedges or a creamy chilli sauce.
This Whole Barbecued Fish with Lemon is another one we can't leave out. This recipe calls for a fresh snapper and is best paired with a beautiful dry white wine. Add it to a feast with other bbq grilled dishes or simply serve with chips and the homemade aioli at the bottom of the list!
BBQ Sides & Sauces
Spice up your feast with this BBQ Grilled Smoky Miso Eggplant side dish. Make sure you get the little baby aubergines to make sure they get nice and soft in a reasonable amount of time.
A classic, and for a good reason. It's tasty, looks great and is easy to make. The creamy and spicy sauce of this Spiced Corn on the Cob Recipe, takes it to the next level and will get people fighting over the last one left on the plate.
We love mushrooms, and especially these Shiitake Mushroom with Umami Butter. The umami butter is nice variation on the usual garlic and oil toppings (even though that's really tasty as well). If you can't find shiitake mushrooms, portobello's will do just fine as well.
Yes, you can buy this in store, but you might as well go all the way when preparing a feast on the grill. This Dallas BBQ Sauce is sweet and spicy and just what your ribs are calling for.
Last but definitely not least, Home Made Aioli. It's easy to make and easy to eat. Since you're not leaving the house anyway, throw in 2 extra garlic gloves and you'll be in heaven. All you need is oil, egg, mustard, lemon juice, salt and of course garlic. You'll be able to whip this up within minutes using an immersion blender.
We hope you have some inspiration for the coming weeks and we'd love it if you share the result with us on Instagram or Facebook!
Thanks,
